Old-Fashioned Banana Bread (Printable Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 ripe bananas, mashed
02 - 115 grams unsalted butter, melted
03 - 200 grams granulated sugar
04 - 1 large egg, beaten
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
07 - 1 pinch of salt
08 - 190 grams all-purpose flour

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Grease a 23 x 13 cm loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
02 - In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until fully incorporated.
03 - Mix in the granulated sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until evenly blended.
04 - Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture. Add all-purpose flour and gently fold until just combined; avoid overmixing.
05 - Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
06 - Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre emerges clean.
07 - Allow bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

01 - For best flavour, ensure the bananas are deeply ripe with brown spots.
